"The Pro War Movement: National Identity and Domestic Support for the Vietnam War"

Dr. Scanlon's research focuses on the relationship between American political culture and U.S. foreign policy.  Specifically, she explores the extent to which conservative activist were successful in utilizing national identity and American exceptionalism to increase support for the Vietnam War and to challenge detente and Realpolitik in U.S. foreign policy.
